Lincoln Ave. Cat & Dog Hospital (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through https://www.lacatanddoghospital.com (the “Site”)-including through our AI Chat Assistant- and in the course of providing our services, how we use and share that information, and the choices you have, including choices for New Jersey residents.


1. Information We Collect


We collect the following types of information:

  • Information you provide to us: your name and contact details (such as email address, phone number, and mailing address), information about your pet, appointment requests, and the contents of forms or messages you submit, including messages you send to our AI Chat Assistant. If you make a payment through the Site, your payment information is collected and processed by our payment provider.

  • Information collected automatically: when you use the Site, we and our analytics providers may collect device and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and approximate location, primarily through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

  • Information from third parties: we may receive information from service providers that help us operate our practice and Site, including our marketing partner and the analytics and advertising providers described in Section 5.

Section 4 below describes in more detail what we collect through our AI Chat Assistant.


2. How We Use Your Information


We use the information we collect to:

  • schedule, provide, and follow up on veterinary services and appointments;
  • communicate with you, including appointment reminders, confirmations, and service updates;
  • operate, support, and improve our AI Chat Assistant and respond to your messages;
  • process payments and maintain veterinary and business records;
  • respond to your questions and requests;
  • operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our services;
  • enable our marketing partner to help us advertise and promote our practice, as described in Section 6
  • send marketing or promotional communications where you have agreed to receive them; and
  • comply with our legal obligations and protect our rights, our clients, and the public.


3. How We Share Your Information


We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, analytics, payment processing, and appointment or practice-management software, our AI Chat Assistant technology provider, and our marketing partner (Section 6). They are permitted to use the information only to provide those services to us.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: providers such as Google or Meta that help us measure and support our Site and marketing, as described in Section 5.

  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our practice, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy as a result.


4. Our AI Chat Assistant


Our site offers an AI Chat Assistant to answer general questions and help you find information or submit an appointment request.


What We Collect
When you use the AI Chat Assistant, we collect the content of your messages, along with related technical information such as the date, time, and device or browser information.


How It Is Processed.
Your messages may be processed by a third-party AI Technology provider GoHighLevel in order to generate a response. That provider processes your messages on our behalf and is contractually restricted from using them for its own independent purposes – such as training its general-purpose AI models – unless we have your consent.

How We Use Chat Data 
We use chat transcripts to respond to your questions, follow up on appointment or service request, improve the assistant´s accuracy and usefulness, and maintain records consistent with Section 10 (Data Retention) below.

Accuracy 
The AI Chat Assistant uses automated technology and may occasionally produce responses that are incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. It does not provide veterinary, medical, financial, or legal advise. See our Terms of Service for more information.


Children
The AI Chat Assistant is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this feature; see Section 13 (Children´s Privacy).


5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies


What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies such as pixels, tags, and analytics scripts. We use these for a few purposes:

  • Strictly necessary to make the Site work (for example, page navigation and security).
  • Analytics and performance to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising and targeting to measure and support marketing, including campaigns run with our marketing partner (Section 6).

Opt-Out Preference Signals
Where technically feasible, we honor opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control, as a valid request to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data for the browser or device sending the signal.


Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use our Site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as your IP address, the pages you view, time spent on the Site, your browser and device type, and approximate location. We use this information to improve our Site and services.


Google processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Other Tracking Technologies
We, or our marketing partner on our behalf, may use advertising or marketing pixels and tags from third parties such as Google or Meta. These tools may collect information about your activity on the Site and share it with those providers, who may use it for measurement or advertising in accordance with their own policies.


Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the Site may not function properly. Refer to your browser’s help resources for instructions.


6. Our Marketing Partner


We work with a third-party marketing company GeniusVets to help us advertise and promote our practice, including through social media, email, and text message campaigns. To provide these services, our marketing partner may receive certain information described in Section 1, such as your name, contact details, and information about how you interact with our ads, emails, or text messages. 


Our marketing partner act as a service provider on our behalf: it is contractually required to use this information only to provide services to us, to keep it confidential, and not to sell it or use it for its own unrelated purposes. If our marketing partner´s activities ever involve sharing information in a way that New Jersey law treat as a “sale” or “targeted advertising” you can opt out as described in Section 9 (Your Privacy Rights and Choices)


7. Text Messaging


If you opt in to receive text messages from us, such as appointment reminders and confirmations, we collect your mobile number and your messaging preferences. We, or our marketing partner operating a messaging platform on our behalf, may send these messages. Message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP. We do not share or sell your mobile number or your SMS opt-in consent data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. 8. Do We Sell Your Personal Data?


We do not sell your personal data for money. We do share limited information with service providers, analytics and advertising providers as described above. Under some privacy laws, including the New Jersey Privacy Act, this kind of sharing may be treated as a “sale” or as “targeted advertising,” even though no money changes hands. You can opt out of this sharing as described in Section 9 below. 

9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices


Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: 

  • Confirm whether we are processing your personal data;
  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccuracies in your personal data;
  • Request deletion of your personal data;
  • Obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable and, where technically feasible, readily usable format; and
  • Opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or certain profiling.


New Jersey Residents
If you are a New Jersey resident, the rights above are provided to you under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act. You may exercise these rights, including opting out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling, by contacting us at [email protected] you may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. 


We will respond to verified requests within 45 days (or, for opt-out requests, within 15 days), and may extend our response time by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, in which case we will notify you. We will not charge a fee for the first request in any 12-month period. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us at [email protected] with “Appeal” in the subject line; we will respond to your appeal within 60 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.


How to Exercise Your Rights
To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond consistent with applicable law and may need to verify your identity, or the authority of your agent, before acting on your request.


10. Data Retention


We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain veterinary and business records, comply with legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.


11. Data Security


We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we experience a data security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulators as required by New Jersey law and other applicable law.


12. Sensitive Data


We do not intentionally collect “sensitive data” as defined by New Jersey Law – such as precise geolocation, health, financial account, racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or immigration status information about you, the human Site visitor - through the Site. If you voluntarily include this type of information in a form, chat, message, or email to us, you consent to out processing it solely to respond to you and provide our services.


13. Children’s Privacy


Our Site, including our AI Chat Assistant,  is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, and we do not knowingly process personal data from a known child in a manner that would require heightened consent without first obtaining that consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us at [email protected] so we can address it.


14. Third-Party Links


Our Site may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.


15. Changes to This Privacy Policy


We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
